Welcome to the PCA Goat Registry Website.
PCA is a registry concerned with recording the pedigree of all goats that meet the registry requirements. The pedigree of the goat can include goats registered in the PCA Goat Registry, the Colored Angora Goat Breeders Association (CAGBA,) the Pygora Breeders Association (PBA), the National Pygmy Goats Association (NPGA) and/or the American Angora Goat Breeders Association (AAGBA).
The goal of PCA is to breed for a colored fiber goat, which grows a special fleece that is neither mohair nor cashmere. The PCA goat is a hybrid which has inherited the best fiber characteristics of both gene pools: mohair from the angora and a very fine "down" (cashmere), from the pygmy goat. The fiber maintains its fineness as the animal ages and when spun, produces an exquisite yarn. Not only is this fiber incredibly fine and soft, it also has excellent insulation properties.
MISSION STATEMENT:
PCA goat breeders and owners are dedicated to the development and promotion of PCA goats and their unique PCA "coats". PCA will be fully transparent, inclusive and will emphasize respect for all its members
